Who is Shakim Rivas-Gonzalez? Shakim was born in New York City, New York known as the “Big Apple”, at Beth Israel Medical Center on February 9th, 1976. Shakim spent most of his child hood on the concrete playgrounds of the inner city streets. He was also fortunate enough to live in the great city of Jacksonville, Florida (Sunshine State) between the years of 1992 and 1996.
At the age of 19, Shakim volunteered for service in the United States Army. His time in the service took him to many places such as Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, Fort Lee, Virginia, Fort Rucker, Alabama, Trinidad-Tobago, Piarco, Soto Cano Airbase, Honduras, and of course Fort Hood, Texas serving with 13th COSCOM and America’s First Team the 1st Cavalry Division.
While stationed at Fort Hood, Shakim fell in love with “Central Texas” way of life and hospitality. Shakim loved the area so much he decided to call Texas home and purchased his first property in Killeen, Texas December 16th, 2002. It was not until later in life when Shakim realized that he had a passion for real estate. Shakim decided to pursue his real estate career in the summer of 2003 and accomplished his goal on February 28th, 2004 by becoming a licensed real estate agent in the State of Texas. Shakim Gonzalez, REALTOR became an instant success selling real estate in the Fort Hood Area. With his dedication to people, hard work, honesty, and a high level of integrity, he quickly became the “go to” agent for real estate advice and service. Word of mouth of Shakim’s real estate knowledge and honest answers spread rapidly in Central Texas. It would seem to some that Shakim became one of Central Texas top agents overnight, but the truth is, he has and continues to dedicate countless hours educating himself on the subject of real estate.
